LINDA S. MILLER
Having worked with children for over 30 years, Linda still loves to teach children (especially her grandchildren) and loves to touch the heart. This is largely what has inspired her to write children’s stories.
Her family grew up with little to no resources in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Not having a lot, Linda and her siblings would find imaginative ways to fill their days and stimulate their creative energy. For Linda, her favorite pastime was reading and writing.
As a young mom raising three children, Linda experienced many challenges. Once again, she found herself escaping her struggles through books and writing stories for the other children she cared for in her childcare program. Many of these short rhythmic stories and songs would be used internally to enhance the daily curriculum and encourage early literacy development.
In 2007, now divorced with three college graduates starting lives of their own, Linda made a career shift from working with children to community health. Since making that move, most of her writing has been centered around business writing related to healthcare, community outreach, human resources, and training and development. She also enjoys writing and sharing messages of hope for her church in South Minneapolis.
Linda’s educational background includes coursework from MCTC, Employee Leadership Management Institutes through Hennepin County; she completed the MN Council of Non-Profits Strategic Connectors Institute; and has extensive training in Diversity & Inclusion. Linda is a ToP (Technology of Participation) facilitator, as well as a Certified Real Colors facilitator, and she is a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Developmental Inventory (IDI).
Linda adds children’s book author to her list of accomplishments as one of Strive Publishing’s founding authors!
